SAP MDG Techno-Functional Consultant

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) Techno-Functional Consultant who can drive end-to-end MDG initiatives, including design, configuration, workflow development, data modelling, integration, and custom enhancements. The ideal candidate should have strong functional knowledge of master data processes and hands-on technical expertise in SAP MDG, FPM, BRF+, and workflow.

Functional Responsibilities

Gather and analyze business requirements for master data governance across domains (Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance, etc.)
Design MDG data models, governance processes, and rule frameworks
Configure MDG components including data models, UI modelling (FPM), validations, derivations, and BRF+ rules
Define and optimize workflows for approval and validation steps
Ensure compliance with data governance policies and global standards
Collaborate with business stakeholders, data owners, and cross-functional teams
Support UAT, training, deployment, and post-go-live activities

Technical Responsibilities

Develop custom enhancements using ABAP, Web Dynpro, FPM, and BAdIs
Work with SAP MDG APIs, Data Replication Framework (DRF), and IDocs/SLT/PI for integrations
Create custom validations, derivations, and UI enhancements
Troubleshoot MDG workflow issues, performance problems, and data replication errors
Ensure smooth integration between MDG and ECC/S4HANA systems
Support data migration activities and develop transformation / mapping logic

Required Skills & Experience

7–10+ years of SAP experience with strong expertise in SAP MDG
Techno-Functional experience with both configuration and development
Strong ABAP debugging and enhancement skills
Hands-on BRF+, FPM, Workflow
Experience with MDG integrations using DRF, ALE/IDoc, or PI/PO
Good knowledge of S/4HANA master data structures
Experience in MDG domains like Customer/Vendor/Material (any combination)
Strong communication, requirement-gathering, and client-facing skills

Preferred Qualifications

SAP MDG certification
Experience with MDG on S/4HANA
Knowledge of SAP BTP, MDG Cloud Edition
Experience in Agile methodology
