Position Overview

We are looking for a Lead jQuery UI Developer with over 10 years of experience in front-end application development and strong expertise in JavaScript, jQuery, jQuery UI, HTML5, CSS3, and enterprise UI architecture. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge with proven leadership capabilities, driving the successful delivery of scalable, high-performance web applications while mentoring development teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

This is a contractual position, and the selected candidate will work from the client’s office in hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications using JavaScript, jQuery, jQuery UI, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Develop reusable UI components including dialogs, accordions, tabs, menus, date pickers, data grids, and custom widgets.
• Build responsive, accessible, and cross-browser compatible user interfaces.
• Integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Optimize UI performance, scalability, accessibility, and overall user experience.
• Troubleshoot complex UI issues and resolve browser compatibility challenges.
• Participate in application enhancements, production support, deployments, and defect resolution.
• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, backend developers, QA teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Contribute to UI modernization initiatives and adoption of engineering best practices.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of UI developers across project deliverables.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for front-end solutions.
• Drive design discussions and recommend scalable, maintainable UI architectures.
• Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Participate in technical interviews and assist in building high-performing development teams.
• Support project estimation, sprint planning, resource allocation, and release management activities.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for all UI-related initiatives.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and client stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
• Drive engineering excellence by promoting coding standards, automation, performance optimization, and continuous improvement.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in front-end web application development.
• Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, jQuery, and jQuery UI.
• Extensive experience with HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, AJAX, JSON, and DOM manipulation.
• Hands-on experience developing and extending custom jQuery UI widgets.
• Strong understanding of responsive web design, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with JSON/XML.
• Strong expertise in front-end performance optimization and browser debugging tools.
• Experience using Git or other version control systems.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

• Experience leading enterprise UI development teams.
• Exposure to UI architecture and application modernization initiatives.
• Experience working on large-scale enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js) is an added advantage.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
